Think More Villainous Thoughts
Alas, while its not a superheroic animal, I am part of a contest over at the tshirt site we love fine, which is currently featuring a Mavel villain design contest! There are a whole lot of great entries, especially a lot of Loki entries thanks to the movie, but I decided to enter with a Journey into Mystery kid Loki (my favorite!)

(not so) secretly, I'm a gamer
Though I play far fewer games now than I did in previous years (something to do with grad school taking most of my time), I've been enjoying some infamous recently, as well as getting back to some old favorites like Kingdom Hearts.
Okay, I admit it, I"m a final fantasy fan. Its been a while since I've played them, but the fangirl in me always has a squee for when cloud and squall (er, "leon,") show up in kh2
I also really thought the prince of persia game they released in 2008 was beautiful. And fun. Considering they haven't done one like that since, I think I must be the only one.
You can see some in-process for this piece on my own blog, sketch vomit, and I'm putting together some tutorials for my upcoming artbook (previews here and here.)

I was going to say something clever here
But I've forgotten what it was. So in the meantime, have a drawing of superboy. He's a robot (apparently), and I might, MIGHT actually read a few of these new comics. There you go, DC, someone who previously had a passionate hatred for all things superhero may actually pick up and leaf through these new works. I may even buy the trades if it looks good enough.
I do like robots though.

Kenshin
So once upon a time I used to be a huge weaboo. Kenshin was one of my favorites. Then I went back and read Ruroken, and yes, its a bit ridiculous, but its still good.
I wanted to do something that also incorporated the Japanese ukiyo-e feel, as well as some art nouveau (which, convenienly, incorporated a lot from the ukiyo-e as well). I'll admit it, I had a lot of fun with this.
You can probably expect more art from me later in the week.

nausicaa
I apologize for the tardiness of this post, its been a crazy few weeks. Drew this on the train ride to Otakon.
I've always loved the miyazaki movies, mostly just for his beautiful heroines. Disney may have all their princesses in fluffy dresses, but Miyazaki has heroines who display the kind of strength everyone wishes they had.

desert flower
WHICH disney princess had a tiger as a best friend? This one? Yeah. Yeah. There's just nothing that ISN'T awesome about that. Not that she wasn't a pretty awesome lady all by herself. But tigers. Tigers are the shiz.

Mow-wow
Before I knew anything about the awesomeness that is the comics world, I knew Calvin & Hobbes. My dad owned the single volume "Weirdos from another planet" and I probably read it enough times to memorize it. That being said, I wish I had time to make a proper tribute last week, but I was busy getting ready for Fluke. Hopefully I'll make something more worthwhile later, but for now, enjoy a real tiger Hobbes and a stuffed Calvin.

My Favorite Villainess Ever
Pretty sure my favorite batman villainess, especially from the animated series. I always loved when all the girl villains got together.
Brush and marker on plate bristol. Original will be for sale at heroescon :3

Jetpack failure
Unfortunately, it looks like this quarter is going to be more than a little hectic. But for starters, here's Dr Horrible with a badly-gone experimental jetpack.

Robin and Nightwing
I'm sure someone's going to comment that I know nothing about nightwing or robin's costume. Its true. I'm more of a manga nerd than a comic nerd. Here they are regardless though. Girl Robin and Lady Nightwing.

Storm!
My first post! Phil Sevy said xmen, and I immediately thought of that wonderful cartoon on tv from my childhood, and I knew I had to be in on this. Storm was definitely my favorite, and I may not be in for the all-white look, but man, she was always awesome.
Its a bit rough, but I wanted to do some digital illustration work rather than lineart. Done whilst listening to seqalab's recording of this weekends CAF panels since I was too sick to go. It sounds like I missed some awesome people.
