Winter is... Well kinda here.

Hey guys! It's not exactly a Christmas piece, but it's what I've been working on throughout the last week. It’ll be available for free download as a wallpaper at www.electrickeychain.com as “December” in a calendar done by illustrators in that collective. I’ve been wanting to do something based on the books/show Game of Thrones(which is AWESOME if you haven't seen it, DO.) and this project gave me a perfect opportunity! Yeah Winterfell! It’s mostly colored pencil, with a few photoshop touches. It should be downloadable in it’s full wallpapery size in a couple days tops, I’ll post the direct link when I have it! Hope you enjoy it!

A Very Green Lantern Christmas

Since it's the end of the year and my last post here before we start up again in january I've decided to end on a high with Chip rocking a Green Lantern sled. I did this for a contest with IGN and even got mentioned on their podcast but sadly didn't win....lost out to a pome, lame but in any case enjoy everyone and see you in the new year for more shenanigans

Mr. Green

So, my favorite iteration of the Hulk is Bruce Jones' "Return of the Monster" era Hulk. Yeah, most people complain about it now cause the Hulk was seldom seen - like a monster who only pops up now and then - but it was brilliant and so against-type. Made a compelling, fascinating read that I still need to finish (read the first two years, but got away from comics for a while, so need to go back and fill in the gaps).

One of my favorite things was that Bruce Banner shaved his head - and the Hulk was bald TOO! SO cool. Plus this Kaare Andrews covers were unreal cool.

Black and White here.

Skybreaker

So this is a bit of a bitter sweet post for me, these are pages from a project I was on called Skybreaker. The book was actually extremely well written by the very talented Michael Moreci (http://www.michaelmoreci.com/) Check this guy out he's got a book coming out with Image soon. In any case Michael was kind of enough to get himself a paying gig (Congrats dude) which effectively put Skybreaker on hold, BUT I figured it be worth sharing the pages that were finished up here.

The Gunslinger

So, I've been really slammed with stuff lately, and had plans for the Westerns theme, but I still haven't gotten to them yet. For now, here is a warmup sketch I did a few months back of Roland Deschain - the protagonist of The Dark Tower series from Stephen King.

Western

Yee HAW!!

So I was really looking forward to the "Western" week here at Periodic Heroes (I may be the only one). I love Cowboy movies, hats, guns, riding horses, rugged individualism etc. but when the time came all I had in me was this little sketch card. It was almost too big of a topic for me to narrow it down. So I threw in some other guys in a hats too? Does it count?
ps. these are for sale at my blog
