Trying to catch up!

Okay, so I've been out for a while but here I am trying to keep up. I may end up skipping a few post but here are the Indiana Jones and the Pulp heroes drawings.

For the Indiana Jones I went with the Doctors. This has to be my favorite movie of the three and I really love the dynamic between the two of them. (Even though my dad started calling me Junior because of this movie).

And as for the Pulp Hero I decided to go with The Shadow. It's no secret that I really like dark characters and even that awful Alec Baldwin movie was entertaining to watch.

Vic Boone hates mondays!!!!.....and Robots

At last a hero that doesn't need to be in a purple body suite to feel like a bad ass.  This is Vic Boone.  Vic Boone is the creation of Shawn Aldridge and is freaking awesome.  The book was nominated for Best Indi Series by IGN if I remember correctly and is a great little slice of creator owned material.

For more on Vic Boone check him out at http://215ink.com/site/portfolio/vic-boone/ (published by 215ink.

Please support this kind of comic guys and enjoy VIC BOONE!

ANOTHER Phantom....

Sorry this was so late (and I got beat to it by not one, but TWO cool pieces) but I really love this character. For all his cheesey-ness, I still think he is so cool. Doing a Phantom comic would easily be in my top ten dream drawing gigs. Plus the idea that his character could exist in any time period is so cool. Anyway, enjoy.

I Shot that Guy Twice Already!

Hey everyone! This is my first week on the blog! I've been following ya'lls art for a while now and it's been awesome! It's an honor to be able to collaborate with such a talented pool of artists.
For this week I chose the Phantom, having not been a huge fan of the Pulps before hand, I do have a solid memory of watching the Billy Zane Phantom from the nineties when skin-tights and rubble nipples were all the craze. And Catherine Zita Jones was in the movie too, which doesn't hurt. Come to think of it, I should have added her to the pic..oh well, I'm sure I can find an excuse to include her later. Anyway, Here it is, hope ya'll like it and I can't wait for the weeks to come!

Rocketeer

So this is just a temporary post until I can finish the Phantom painting I'm working on (you beat me to it Phil). Expect the "ghost who walks" soon.

I might be doing some prints of this one too. What size should I do small-ish or would the original size be better?

The Ghost Who Walks

Had to do the Phantom. Loved him since "Defenders of the Universe." Why is it that all the pulp greats had such awesomely bad 90s movies? Dick Tracy, The Shadow, The Phantom, The Rocketeer - I LOVED all these movies, though I can't say they were actually any good.
Did this one with ink and black watercolor (instead of inkwash). Still trying to get the hang of that, but it was fun.

There's Pulp in my Juice!

I'm a day or so ahead--I just had the stuff I worked on ready. I went and watched Rocketeer a few months ago for the first time in...I can't remember how long--I loved it as a kid. It was really fun! I thought it might make a really good animated flick, actually. And before Rocketeer rocked my world as a kid, I was obsessing over Dick Tracey. So, as a nod to my childhood heroes, I did these. The one of Dick all colored was me experimenting with a different style.
