So what could be creepier than a super intelligent gorilla bent on human annihilation? Nothing.  And i LOVE his creepy "spiciest" political views. Just imagine if a small group of chimps or gorillas had human speech and reasoning, we would be scra-rewed! Anyhoo, enjoy.

With great power comes....

....a freakin cool suit. I remember as a kid seeing the new black suit on Spidey. That Secret Wars cover, and subsequent Web of Spiderman #1 cover (go find it now!) rocked my adolescent brain, and made so much sense. I mean what better way to blend in to the shadows than all black. And from a design sense, he is a walking talking "spot black". Brilliant! Then they had to screw it all up,...CURSE YOU VENOM!!! Anyway, I will ALWAYS love the black suit.

ALIENS!!! (sorry, I'm fresh outta funny titles)UPDATED!

Sorry this is so late, I've been playing catch up after my globe trotting trip to the middle east (more on this later) but I should be on it shortly.
I love the Aliens franchise, yes ALL of them (with the exception of the Predator cross-overs) I even loved the 4th one. I recently saw Prometheus, and although I thourougly enjoyed it, it raised more questions than answered. Arggghhhhh! Anyhoo, here's my "Aliens" painting. 12"x18" acrylic and pencil on illustration board.

Honestly not a big Conan fan here. Especially after drawing him, I mean who walks around like that? Betty Page haircut, furry underpants, furry boots, and a giant sword. It's like an analysts dream job. Still, it is fun to draw.

The First Avenger

I may be early (probably late) but this was the most recent thing I've done, soooo Avengers it is. I love cap. I thought they did him justice in the flick and I love that we got to see Cap during WWII. So I decided in my first Avenger post, to send one out for Cap. Here's to you Cap, for sticking up for the little guys. Another Avengers piece is coming soon.

The Crow piece one

I think the first Crow movie can be credited for reviving the comic book movie. The movie also got me back into comics. I was doing music exclusively at the time but after seeing that movie, I remember giving the comics that I saw on store shelves an extra glance.  This was just kind of a warm up for a bigger piece, but I liked the way it turned out. Be on the lookout for the next one soon.

Let's hear it for the unsung heroes of the Jonny Quest saga. And the most important of these is Bandit, the coolest french bulldog ever. I am working on another Quest piece too, so watch for it soon.

Last Pirate post

Some of my favorite moments of the Disney attraction, the cave scenes. I tried to boil down the essence of that scene for me, and this is it. "Dead men tell no tales" I sent this in to the Disney fine art people to sell on property, so keep your fingers crossed.

ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

So when I was five I rode "Pirates of the Caribbean" at Walt Disney World in Orlando. I was told that I cried at the exploding water. All I know is that the experience would forever cement pirates in my brain as one of the coolest things ever. So this is the first piece I'll post this week, it's an homage to east coast Pirates of the Caribbean. "yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me"

Allen the Alien

I often describe Invincible like this
"Imagine you were around when Spiderman first appeared (most of the people I am around were not around then, myself included) and you new this character was something special." Even though superheroes have been done to death, this book brings new stuff. It's really great. And somehow it is able to be SUPER violent and somehow not seem gratuitous. Anyway, of all the characters I chose Allen the Alien, one of the few true hero souls in the book. enjoy.
