Who you gonna call?

A quick sketch that I've had done for awhile, only finals got in the way of posting it... I loved the ghostbusters as a child, both the movies and the cartoons were my staples of television watching. I drew an older Venkman, so he could die properly in Ghostbusters 3, if that ever happens...

Agents of H.A.T.E.

Nextwave is simply one of my all time favorite comics, and I was originally planning to just draw the Captain being an ass, but well, the sketching continued and I went with the whole group. We need more comics like this!

Jetpack Shark!

So, we have a week of characters with jetpacks, so naturally I decided that the best option for myself was to draw a shark... with a jetpack.

X-Men

So, I have the magical powers of a dead keyboard, and now at a working keyboard, I can add my intended comments to this image...
The X-men pretty much got me into comics. Specifically, the early to mid 90s stuff by Jim Lee and later Joe Mad, so I had to draw up my favorites of that era. Each of the three just have so many neat little quirks, flaws, and powers that really appealed to my teenage brain. Hopefully, I've done my childhood self some justice with this image...

Who's got next?

The best part about this week's assignment was that I had pretty much watched/listened to the last three seasons of Venture Brothers while I waited for the cable company to stop being lazy and get my service running. So, after watching them, it reaffirmed my love for the show, and made me realize that without Brock, I'd hate the show... Which is probably why I didn't care for much of the fourth season...

Turtle Power!

A quick sketch of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which was my second favorite cartoon growing up, only behind the Ghostbusters. Though the arcade game for the NES was like... hands down my favorite game. It's funny though, how strange and timeless in a way these characters are. They've redone the cartoon like a billion times, and even my girlfriend's nephew at age 3, loves these guys more than anything else on tv right now. I'm guessing my kids will like it, too, one day.

The Gang's All Alive

I was super excited to draw up the Runaways cast, and I picked to draw up my favorite characters from the cast. When I originally drew this there was no Molly, so yes, I had to find a way to squeeze her in there. The comic and concept is an awesome and new one, so if you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. It's really a shame the book isn't still running when you can get like 5 Deadpool titles... And we wonder why the comics industry is in such trouble...

The Fantastic One, Johnny Storm!

So, the Fantastic Four is probably one of my favorite concepts in comics, where you follow around this family as they have amazing adventures, but at the end of the day, they're about being a family. Definitely a topic that's easy to relate with. Johnny Storm is the sometimes selfish jerk that every family has, and with this costume modification, the Thing doesn't take it too well... Sorta like how Johnny dominates him in video games.
