The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the epitome of comics for me as a kid---they had super powers (from the ooze), radical catch-phrases, bogus artwork and far out stories, and nasty bad guys. I liked that the heroes were turtles, but had human friends, and (of course), I could relate with them on an entirely different level because of the fact that we both loved pizza.
For whatever its worth, I think that the Ninja Turtles summed up drawing for me, too. I figured that if you were going to draw something that looked realistic, you might as well take a photograph. Drawing was for making things up. The Ninja Turtles were the best of both worlds---they were made up, but drawn in a fairly realistic manner. It was true make believe.
Anyway, I plan on adding to this blog more regularly now :)
Dude, if you keep killing it like this, we'll take you whenever we can get you. This is awesome - I love it! I want a t-shirt and pillow-case of this.
ReplyDeleteLOL That's nice of you to say, but I'm gonna step it up and be better about this. I'm only sorry I haven't drawn the others.
